Versatile and autonomous system! FarmGuard is compatible with most controllers.
Customize alerts and reports according to your preferences on the cloud-based FarmQuest platform.
In addition to monitoring for electrical problems, the FarmGuard system also verifies its own operational status. Any loss of communication or accidental disconnection will be detected.
This service requires zero annual fees and can be connected to your own alarm system.
You have remote access to your farm’s data.
FarmQuest archives vast amounts of installation data. This data is compiled into reports and charts, streamlining the diagnostic process performed by your expert electrician.
Organize your reports in a few clicks according to your needs.
The real-time leakage current display simplifies the detection of faulty or failing equipment.
Leakage currents are indicative of imminent equipment breakdown, while abnormally high temperatures point to a potentially faulty connection.
It is possible to install a module to oversee your thermal probes.
Leakage currents, also known as current leaks, pose a significant threat to your installations, animals, and workers, all while raising your electricity bills. If left unchecked, they can also lead to electrical fires.
This section will shed light on leakage currents, their causes, and potential consequences.
A leakage current is simply a current loss. This current can flow to the ground, direct itself towards other equipment, or find the nearest water basin or metal conductor.
While there are many potential causes, all leakage currents are due to some form of electrical fault, without exception.
For instance, equipment on the brink of failure (e.g. motors, pumps, lighting or ventilation components, etc.) are known to cause leakage currents. A pretty unpleasant situation!
The installation must be completed by a certified electrician who will also verify the overall state of your electrical installation and equipment.
Two installation options are possible:
Option 1 –Standard current transmitter. The electrician must disconnect the wiring from the electrical panel, connect the transmitter and then reconnect everything. The installation time depends on the complexity of the setup.
Option 2 – Split transmitter. The transmitter can be split into two parts. No need in this case to disconnect wiring from the panel, so an electrical shutdown is also not necessary during the procedure. It is important to note that, although we strive to make the installation of FarmGuard as quick as possible, the total time and installation fees may vary depending on the complexity of your electrical setup.
FarmGuard was designed with GENIUS iTouch clients in mind, so if this is your case, it is a very economical solution!
You simply need to install a GE-EPS module and a current transmitter (standard or split) and voilà !
Depending on the number of electrical panels requiring monitoring, we offer 2 modules for electrical fault surveillance.
The cost of installation can vary depending on its complexity. We recommend consulting an electrician for an accurate quote.
No annual fees!
What more, some insurance companies offer a rebate on your insurance policy after installing FarmGuard.
We added self-verification functions to the system and its components. This means that in addition to FarmGuard monitoring your installations for any potential problems, the system also engages in periodic checks of its own components and operational status. Hence, loss of communication with FarmGuard, or a disconnected probe, will trigger alarms.
For example, you will receive an alarm message if any of the following conditions present themselves:
The principal function of FarmGuard is to detect electrical anomalies which could, if improperly handled, provoke fires. When the system detects an anomaly, you will receive an alarm message by text message or email.
FarmGuard offers many benefits!
In the presence of a leakage current, a warning sign that a fan or electrical equipment is about to stop functioning or that a connection will soon fail, FarmGuard can pinpoint the source of the problem in real-time so that the necessary repairs may be completed before it is too late.
Let’s remember that the main causes of leakage currents and of overheating electrical panels include:
